Padma River - পদ্মা নদী

This is the major river of Bangladesh that originates from the Himalaya and enters Bangladesh from India. In Bangladesh it meets with Meghna and got the name Meghna. The total length of Ganga – Padma river system is about 2600 km. In Bangladesh, the length of Ganga is 258 km, starting with western Border of India to its confluence with Jamuna at Goalandaghat. The Padma is 126 km long, running from Goalandaghat confluence to Chandpur where it joins the Meghna. This was a mighty one but day by day it is becoming merge. This is due to Farrakah Dam, which was set up in India.

Pashur River - পসুর নদী

The land between the Pashur and the Bhola is drained by the Sela, which lies wholly within the Sundarbans. Many cross channels connect it with the systems on either side. A large cross channel connects it with the Morzal at the head of its estuary. The pashur river is a continuation of the Rupsha, which is formed of the union of the Bhiaraband Atrai rivers. At present, much of its water is from the Garai diverted through the Noboganga. From near Batighata Upazilla the Rupsha changes its name to Kazibacha, which is given up near Chalna in favor of Pashur. Near the Mongla Port, the Pashur receives Mongla river and near the forest outpost at Chandpai it receives the Mirgamari cross channel from the Bhola, both on the leftbank. On the rightbank the Manki, Dhaki and Bhadra are connected with Shibsha system.
